Insight

Capacity to operate when your energy reserves are low is a difficult place to be in as it increases the risks of non-ideal results for you and others around you that you impact (whether you want to or not).

Things get cloudy, you feel like snapping more, there is a lack of peace within you that makes you restless, you feel stuck and lost when trying to get out of this.

Low energy can sneak up on you too, especially when you are going through growth, change, new or different experiences, and when your internal resistance is battling within you because the new habits you want to instill in your daily life is in combat with your older paradigm (the beliefs and stories you tell yourself) because they are not ready to let go.

The state of the new environment and flux uses up so much more energy than you realise.

Seeing the signs and acting on them is important. Not in a reactive way, but in a way that you gift yourself the space you need to choose how best to respond.

So What?

I experienced this over the weekend. As I write this I have been impacted by the sneaky creep of low energy because:

  • Blossoming Speaker is growing quickly as I act on its 2025 focus on public speaking and confidence growth and development using my productive and real-world application models.
  • I have helped seven people last week discover how they can lighten their own load in their personal confidence and public speaking journey.
  • Someone who has been a big impact on my life and a big impact on many interests I deeply value, passed away last Friday.
  • I had to navigate schedule changes, new things popping up that needed my attention.
  • I rested, ate well, exercised, practised mindfulness, yes I did all the things I knew that will fill my cup.

None was enough to help me with all the extra energy that was being used lately. BUT!

Because of my practices, frameworks and investment in myself, I was quick to realise this, pause and create space for me to regroup and refuel.

I was able to lovingly, respectfully (even though not always perfectly delivered) communicate this to others that needed to know that I needed this space and it did not mean I valued them less. I was able to say that I needed this so I can continue to be the best I can be to continue to be there with you and for you.

I share this vulnerable part of my life not for you to get the violin out as I share a little sob, but to let you know:

Everyone, even a skilled and practiced person who values and supports others in this area will feel challenges of low energy and its consequences.

I know hand on heart and in practice in my own life, the more you invest in yourself by learning, training, applying your public speaking and confidence repository of superpowers:

  • The better you become at identifying that sneaky creep of low energy that tries to take hold when you are growing, changing, developing.
  • The better you will become at how you create the space you need to choose how you prefer to respond and how to act on that decision.
  • The better you will get at not allowing that dip of low energy to become a pit so deep it becomes hard to see the light at the top guiding you to come back and be you because you are so valued and important even if you cannot see that in the pit.
  • The better you become at getting through as fast as you can by slowing down to allow yourself to realise the most optimal path forward and through.

I will share with you what I did to get me through. A result of me investing on how I act on the ‘what’, is it has decreased my time I go through this situation; something that used to snowball into a year or two of suffering of low energy, doubt, and an unsureness on how to proceed, now is a process that takes me 2-3 hours.
