Warning: This additional newsletter edition is a little more personal (and longer) but maybe you can relate a little to this in your life, or maybe you’d like to start doing what I am doing. Either way. I invite you to please read this with an open mind. The BackgroundToday a year ago, I officially published my first book, Confidence Booster, Affirmations to Reframe Your Mindset and Boost Confidence. The irony of the title that I didn’t know then, was that I published it one of the the worst times for me. For years I had gone through more rough patches, and when things felt smooth I quickly realised I was only in the eye of the storm as that smooth surface began to fall into a steep descend. It was not a ride I enjoyed but it was my long season of life turning up to challenge me in so many areas, personally and professionally. For example, too many deaths of loved ones, so many changes in life that forced me to live in more uncertainty, I had so much to learn but felt like I needed the results yesterday, felt alone and stuck even though I have some great people around, and the thing that frustrated me the most, not know how to fix it because I was living in the messy middle and newness of it all. Now I thought a year before that, when I hit a personal bottom and I lost complete confidence in myself because life for that previous 12 months worn me out and shattered me, I thought that was my worst. I did not realise that it would of continued over the next 12 months too. So what changed? My life was still overly challenging yet I did not realise it was still one of my worst years. Transformation TimeI started practicing what I was teaching, instead of just teaching it. I laugh to myself at this classic trap that I heard many other coaches, teachers, parents, leaders fall for, and said it would never happen to me because I am highly self-aware, love to learn, and have great observation skills. You heard the saying, “Do what I say and not what I do.” I was living it. When I wasn’t on a break from my business to cope with life challenges, I was coaching and training others the very things that would have helped me enjoy the worst years of my life. Life challenges always happens but you always have the power of choice on how you go through them. The choice no one or circumstance that no one can take away from you, that you will always have is… How do you want to experience this? I decided when I was down in my pit of life in quarter four of 2024, that I wanted to have the confidence of peace and joy no matter what life throws at me, because life will always give me challenges as well as opportunities. I definitely don’t want to miss out of any more opportunities because I’m stuck in the challenges. Do you? So I started to do what I say and actually spent the last 12 months coaching and training myself…
I officially published my first book, Confidence Booster, Affirmations to Reframe Your Mindset and Boost Confidence, at the worst time but it became a reference that helped me reframe what I was going through. It helped me live an experience of peace and joy while I grew my confidence in action through the continued hard times of life. It resulted in me no longer feeling stuck. Me no longer feeling drained or overwhelmed. A stronger and taller feeling of confidence that grew peacefully in my storms. A mental clarity and self-backing when going through my uncertainties. So there you have it. My personal testimonial of how now on my one year anniversary of my first book, Confidence Booster, Affirmations to Reframe Your mindset and Boost Confidence, I realised the help it gave me…
But all this happened because I consistently read the book and applied it in so many areas of my life. It would not have happened if I kept this book on my shelf or desk untouched. And I could read the whole book in one sitting if I wanted too, but I always preferred picking a page or two, and focusing on them for the day or week. Do You What to Transform Too?Now it is party time. Yes my life is still challenging but the reframes in action gives me the confidence I need to keep going through with a smile inside. I’m feeling generous and as part of my celebration I am releasing a special 1st Anniversary edition of Confidence Booster, Affirmations to Reframe Your Mindset and Boost Confidence. Insight Fear commonly triggers a deeply anchored feeling that you want to run and get far away from a particular speaking situation. This feeling influences your thoughts, how your body responds, and how you make decisions. The more I learn about speaking with fear, and the more I mentor and coach people on how they may speak afraid to be more confident, I see more clearly that the deeper meaning is that you are about to step into new and unfamiliar territory. So What? This new territory...
Insight Big new year resolutions often fizzle because they’re overwhelming. But confidence builds faster through small, repeatable wins that create momentum. So What? If you want to grow your speaking skills in 2026, start with one intentional, manageable action. Do it. Then hit repeat. This quick-win momentum sets the tone for your year, proving to yourself that change is possible and sustainable. Insight Self-doubt often feels louder during transition time: closing out a year makes us replay what we “should have done.” But did you know that doubt is not evidence; it’s simply a habit of thought? So What? If you carry self-doubt forward, it will shape how you speak, lead, and connect in the new year. By challenging doubt now, you create a cleaner slate to build your confidence on. Exercise to Apply Write down one recurring self-doubt thought you’ve had this year (e.g., “I’m not good at...
