Start the Year With a Confidence Win.

Insight

Big new year resolutions often fizzle because they’re overwhelming. But confidence builds faster through small, repeatable wins that create momentum.

So What?

If you want to grow your speaking skills in 2026, start with one intentional, manageable action. Do it. Then hit repeat. This quick-win momentum sets the tone for your year, proving to yourself that change is possible and sustainable.

Exercise to Apply

Choose one speaking opportunity in January: asking a question in a meeting, introducing yourself at an event, giving a short team update, or sitting tall at the table when listening and speaking, or give yourself a 1-minute break each day to reset and refuel. Do it with intention, and celebrate it as your first confidence win of 2026.

It doesn’t have to be a big and complicated plan or goal, and this is what actually leads to New Year goals fizzing out once the holiday glow fades. Smaller steps, with a quick-win focus that is aligned to a big win, is how you achieve your public speaking and confidence goals and help you keep them well past the win. I’d love to support you as your coach, mentor, and healthy dose of positive encouragement. Please hit reply to have a conversation on the next steps you may take to do this.

All the best, Susan.

P.S. I love creating and sharing these weekly tips with you, and I hope they’ve been a helpful boost of confidence in your speaking journey. If you’ve found value here and would like to support my work, you now have the option to leave a small “thank you tip.” It’s completely optional, but every bit helps me keep bringing you fresh ideas and encouragement each week.
