A commonly unspoken indication you are on the right path.

Insight

Fear commonly triggers a deeply anchored feeling that you want to run and get far away from a particular speaking situation. This feeling influences your thoughts, how your body responds, and how you make decisions. The more I learn about speaking with fear, and the more I mentor and coach people on how they may speak afraid to be more confident, I see more clearly that the deeper meaning is that you are about to step into new and unfamiliar territory.

So What?

This new territory means you are continuing on your journey forward, deciding not to stay stuck where you are right now. This is so you may experience the next range of goals and experiences you want. This brings with it a wide range of uncertainty because you do not know how to go through until you dig into your courage to step forward. The fear comes in to anchor you into the comfort of what you know, even if it is not an ideal situation you want to stay in. You now know how to survive it no matter how it feels or its results.

Feeling a fear of speaking in a situation, or experiencing your confidence being challenged, may mean that you are stepping forward into your right path. You are growing into a new version of you which is changing how you and others see you. Just because you do not know all the answers now, doesn’t mean you do not have all that you need to discover these answers now. You have what you need for your next step.
